Après de nombreuses rumeurs, l'information et techniquement officielle: Les Groupes MSN vont être fermés définitivement. En effet, un email du Support Technique posté sur "MSN Discussion public newsgroup" confirme cela et indique également la date de fermeture. Dans cet email, un utilisateur demandait au Support Technique des informations supplémentaires sur MSN Groupes, car des utilisateurs de MSN Groupes en Italie avaient reçu un email indiquant la fermeture des Groupes. C'est en réponse à cette question que Claudia explique que MSN Groupes va fermer le 21 février 2009 et qu'un nouveau service, Windows Live Groupes, devrait démarrer le 17 Novembre 2008.
Un autre message sur "Community Feedback MSN Group", dédié aux propriétaires de Groupes, a également été posté pour demander des informations sur ce sujet. Dans la réponse, Geri n'entre pas dans les détails comme Claudia le fait, mais confirme néanmoins qu'un "changement arrive".
Pour le moment, de ce que révèle Claudia, il semblerait qu'il ne soit pas possible de migrer son ancien Groupe MSN vers un nouveau Groupe Windows Live, car le système sera fondamentalement différent, et attaché au panel Windows Live. On apprend seulement que, tout comme World Groups avait été choisi, lors de la fermeture des Groupes MSN pour adultes, comme nouveau service, permettant de migrer le contenu des Groupes MSN concernés à ce moment, un autre service, Multiply, devrait permettre de migrer les Groupes MSN actuels vers ce nouvel emplacement, afin de conserver l'historique des communautés.
Les utilisateurs auraient donc deux solutions: Migrer leurs groupes sur Multiply, et ainsi continuer à les utiliser avec leurs historiques (ndlr: dans un style différent), ou recréer de nouveaux groupes sur Windows Live Groupes. Enfin, notez que le Support Technique nous a confirmé que les services MSN Groupes fonctionneront normalement jusqu'à la fermeture, excepté l'offre d'espace de stockage supplémentaire (payante), qui ne sera plus proposée.

until that day, but will no longer have the ability to add additional storage
capacity to it.
There was a company with Multiply, a service of Media Group and sharing
online, to create a migration process that moves the service to MSN Groups
(Multiply), so in that way preserve the online community and the history of
the group MSN.
A new service, Windows Live groups, will be launched on November 17 2008.
Customers have 3 options to move his team to a new service:
1. Automatically move your MSN and its data set to Multiply. This option is
free and easy to use: Multiply move the contents of the MSN group and invited
members to return to join his group in this new position.
2. Start from scratch in another department. Customers can start from
scratch and create your group in a different service. However, we recommend
you leave your group will automatically move to Multiply. This will enable
the group to an easy transition, and users can continue to enjoy the
communities that have created.
3. Start from scratch on Windows Live group. To further expand our exchange
and communication services, Windows Live will launch this new service. It is
expected to launch Windows Live groups to the public on November 17, 2008.
