It is easy to create keys on VSIXc. These keys are intended to grant a level or an option to the user which uses them. Chatroom owners and hosts can define these keys, but some are reserved for chatroom owners only (yellow hammer). Here is the list of keys available on the VSIXc Chat Network, sorted from the highest level to the lowest:
- OWNERKEY
The ownerkey let you be granted owner level on a chatroom, i.e. to obtain the yellow hammer. This key also brings the same advantages as the HOSTKEY, MEMBERKEY et VOICEKEY.
How to use it ?
Through the web (using VSIXc OCX): type in the chat prompt /OWNERKEY yourkey
Through mIRC: type in the corresponding chatroom prompt //PROP # OWNERKEY yourkey
Through FlashVSI: Right click on the chatroom window, go to "room keys", under "owner key" and click on create/modify
How to use a key with a command ?
Through the web (using VSIXc OCX): type in the chat prompt /PASS yourkey
Through mIRC: type in the corresponding chatroom prompt //IDENTIFY # yourkey
Through FlashVSI: type in the chatroom window /PASS yourkey
How to use the key when joining a room ?
This is the most reliable and quick method. The key is sent before joining the room, so that the "xxx made xxx an owner" message will not be shown to other users in the room. This method also let you join the room if it is in +k mode (password protected), or when other restrictions are applied to the room.
Through mIRC: type in /join #roomname yourkey
Through FlashVSI: Open FlashVSI settings dialog, and go to the My rooms tab. Add your room and its key to the favorite rooms and room keys list. Also check that "use keys automatically" is ON. The key will then be used automatically by FlashVSI. Otherwise, you can also type in manually /join #roomname yourkey
- HOSTKEY
The hostkey let you be granted host level on the chatroom, i.e. to obtain the brown hammer. This key also bring advantages as the MEMBERKEY and VOICEKEY.
How to create the key ?
Through the web (by using VSIXc OCX): type in the chat prompt /HOSTKEY yourkey
Through mIRC: type in the chatroom window prompt //PROP # HOSTKEY yourkey
Through FlashVSI: Right click on the chatroom window, go to room keys, under host key and click on create/modify

- MEMBERKEY
The memberkey is the same than the one used by mode +k. This key is used as a password for preventing users from joining a room without a password. The key must be used when joining the room in order to join a +k or +i modes key. This key also provides the advantages of the VOICEKEY.

Through mIRC: type in a chatroom prompt //PROP # MEMBERKEY yourkey
Through FlashVSI: Right click on a chatroom window, go to room keys, under clé membre and choose create/modify.
How to use the key when joining a room ?
Through mIRC: type in /join #nomdesalle yourkey
Through FlashVSI: Open FlashVSI settings window, and go to the My rooms tab. Add the room and its key to the favorite rooms and room keys list. Check that the "automatically use keys" setting is ON. Key will then be used automatically by FlashVSI. Otherwise you can also join manually through /join #roomname yourkey
- VOICEKEY
The voicekey lets you be granted voice level on a room which is joined as a spectator by default (room with +m mode).
How to create the key ?
Through mIRC: type in a chatroom window prompt //PROP # VOICEKEY yourkey
Through FlashVSI: Right click on a chatroom window, go to room keys, under voice key and click on create/modify

Reminder about keys usage in FlashVSI: As keys also include privileges from lower-level keys, when you associate a key to a room in the favorite rooms and room keys list (FlashVSI settings dialog, "My rooms" tab), it is recommended to type in the highest key you are aware of for the room. When you activate automatical keys usage, FlashVSI will optimally use your keys each time you join a chatroom, even when using the /hop command.
